Steamposh is not an offshoot of Steampunk but is rather the reimagining of the based Industrial Design movement from a more cultivated perspective producing a distinctive niche of its own! It retains the same Industrial and Victorian influences of Steampunk, that of rugged industrial equipment, relics, and artifacts, but emphasizes a more refined and elegant aesthetic by keying in on the intrinsic beauty that they naturally possess. While Steampunk might include these rugged elements in a brash or overly embellished style that is typically associated with frivolous fantasy, Steamposh focuses on exposing and complementing their natural beauties while softening and enhancing them with a perfectly harmonized pairings of luxury and opulence to produce the same historical contexts but with a more useful and essential result. Steamposh designs and concepts might feature elaborate fashion supplements, high end name-brand augmentations, additional luxurious fabrics and finishes, or the incorporation of new technologies to produce a more purposeful and intentional result compared to the often gratuitous and haphazard Steampunk style.
Think of it as the cleaner and more polished aristocratic counterpart to the gritty and grimy plebeian Steampunk look!
