Sounds was a German music magazine published between 1966 and 1983. Initially, the focus was on free jazz, after 1968 on progressive rock. Around 1978/79, the focus shifted to punk and new wave. Sounds became the first German pop music magazine.[1][2][3][4] Among its authors were Diedrich Diederichsen and Albert Oehlen.
