Solkiki Chocolatemaker is the UK's fine bean-to-bar chocolate maker producing vegan chocolate, based in Northwest Dorset.[1]
History
[edit]Solkiki Chocolatemaker was founded in 2008 by a married couple Iris and Bob who were both fascinated with food since childhood. Their first attempt at creating chocolate was when they couldn’t find dairy free and vegan white chocolate on the market that would suit their needs[2].
Inspiration
[edit]The story of craft chocolate for Solkiki has begun with 2 brands that inspired and convinced Iris and Bob—Askinosie and Amano Chocolate.[3]
Cruelty-free chocolate
[edit]Solkiki is committed to use cruelty-free ingredients. In addition, humans shouldn't be exploited in the process of making chocolate. Solkiki sources cacao beans using direct trade and the shortest chain possible.[4]
Products
[edit]Solkiki offers a range of chocolate bars—dark, white, mylk — all dairy-free and vegan [5].
Recognition
[edit]Over the years, Solkiki has won about 100 international awards for their products. [6] The awards were coming from such institutions as International Chocolate Awards, Great Taste Awards and others.
