Draft:Sint Maarteners in the Netherlands

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sint Maarteners in the Netherlands (Dutch: Sint Maartenaren in Nederland) are migrants from Sint Maarten to the Netherlands and their descendants. Sint Maarten was part of the former Netherlands Antilles until its dissolution in 2010, after which Sint Maarten became a constituent country of Kingdom of the Netherlands. As of 2006, figures from Statistics Netherlands (CBS) showed that out those of Dutch Antillean origin, 2.000 were from Sint Maarten.[1][2]

Since 2006, no further official figures regarding Sint Maarteners in the Netherlands have been published. However, it is very likely that the number of Sint Maarteners in the Netherlands has increased over the years since 2006, just as the numbers of those from the other Dutch Caribbean islands in the Netherlands have.
