Silent Hill: Townfall is an upcoming survival horror video game developed by No Code and published by Konami and Annapurna Interactive. Silent Hill: Townfall was officially announced in October 2022 as a spin-off of the Silent Hill series.[1]
Development
[edit]In February 2021, Konami reportedly engaged multiple third-party developers to revive the Silent Hill series through the development of multiple games.[2] In August 2021, No Code announced their development of an undisclosed horror game during the Annapurna Interactive Showcase.[3] In May 2022, Annapurna Interactive was reported to be collaborating with Konami on upcoming projects related to the Silent Hill series.[4] The official announcement of the game took place during the Konami showcase titled "Silent Hill Transmission" on 19 October 2022.[5]
The game is being directed by Jon McKellan, the creative director at No Code studio, who expressed that the game "respects the source material" following its official announcement.[6] Franck Besançon is responsible for designing the creatures, while character design is lead by Eugenia Peruzzo. After the project's announcement, the studio began recruiting to expand its development team.[7]
