Sergiy Panteliiovych Taranenko (born August 23, 1973, in Luhansk) is a Ukrainian archaeologist, PhD in History, Head of the Research Department of Archaeology at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra National Preserve, lecturer, visiting research fellow at the Faculty of Science and Technology, Department of Archaeology and Anthropology, Bournemouth University, UK, author and co-author of over 150 scientific publications. His specialization is the archaeology of medieval cities, including Kyiv Podil and the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra. Author of the methodology and initiator of the electronic archaeological map of the territory of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra National Preserve. Member of ICOM since 2019. Reviewer in scientific journals. Biography

He was born in Luhansk. From 1999 to 2008, he studied at the Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University, majoring in history and teaching history. In 2014, he defended his PhD thesis on «Mass Residential Development of the Rus Podil: Planning Structure». From 1999 to 2007, he worked as a junior researcher at the Institute of Archeology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. From 2007 to 2015, he was a researcher at the Center for Archeology of Kyiv. Since 2015, he has been the head of the Research Department of Archeology at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra National Preserve. Since 2022, he has been a visiting research fellow at the Faculty of Science and Technology, Department of Archaeology and Anthropology, Bournemouth University, UK. Since 2023, he has worked part-time as a researcher at the Conservation Center of Archaeological Objects. Research interests Archaeology of medieval cities, archaeology of Kyiv Podil, archaeology of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra, planning structure of medieval cities, urban studies, etc. Field research He has been conducting archaeological research in Ukraine for over 20 years. He is one of the most famous researchers of the archaeology of Kyiv Podil.

• guest speaker at scientific conferences, universities, radio, and television.
