Sergei Aleksandrovich Salmin (born June 25, 1975) is a Russian politician and statesman. He has been Head of Orenburg since March 24, 2022.
Biography
[edit]Sergei Aleksandrovich Salmin was born on June 25, 1975 in Buzuluk, Orenburg region into a large working-class family. His mother, Lidiya Aleksandrovna worked at a glove factory, his father Alexander Aleksandrovich worked as a driver at POGAT, and then at the railway.
Sergei studied at school 130 (now 13). During his school years he became interested in sambo. After school, he graduated from the Buzuluk Irrigation College with a degree in economics, accounting and control.
After graduating from college, Sergei began coaching. In 1993-1994 he served in the Russian army. Then, he returned to work as a sambo coach and teacher.
Labor activity
Since 1993 - sambo trainer and teacher. Repeated champion and prize-winner of competitions at various levels.
Since 2002 - entrepreneur. Engaged in the construction, sale and transportation of petroleum products.
In 2015, he was elected as a deputy, chairman of the Buzuluk Council of Deputies.
From December 31, 2018 to December 10, 2020 - Head of the city of Buzuluk
From December 11, 2020 to July 21, 2021 - Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of the Orenburg Region.
July 21, 2021 - First Deputy Head of the City of Orenburg.
From March 24, 2022 - mayor of the city of Orenburg
Personal life
[edit]Salmin is married, and has 5 children.
