Early life and education
[edit]Sebastian Eilert was born and raised in Hamburg, Germany. In 1996, he moved to the United States to pursue his education in architecture. He graduated from the University of Miami in 2000 with a five-year Bachelor of Architecture (BArch). Continuing his focus on environmental design, Eilert earned a Master’s degree in Environmental Studies from Florida International University (FIU) in 2024.
Career
[edit]In 2006, Eilert founded Sebastian Eilert Architecture, a firm dedicated to sustainable architecture, historic preservation, and innovative residential and commercial projects. His work emphasizes energy efficiency, environmental responsibility, and the integration of modern design with ecological principles.
From 2009 to 2014, Eilert served as an adjunct professor at the University of Miami, where he taught courses in sustainable design, sharing his expertise with the next generation of architects.
Eilert was also a founding member of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) South Florida Chapter, now recognized as the USGBC Florida Chapter, where he contributed to promoting green building practices and environmental awareness.
