Draft:Scottish Council on Global Affairs
The Scottish Council on Global Affairs[1] (SCoGA) is the first institution in the United Kingdom to study, debate and research international relations to be established outside on London. A joint enterprise of the University of Glasgow[2], University of Edinburgh,[3] and the University of St Andrews[4] it was launched in 2022[5][6] with the support of the Scottish Government and of the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, having featured in the manifestos of several Scottish political parties.[7][8][9]
The SCoGA combines elements of a policy think tank and university-based research institute. Along with publications and public events, SCoGA produces an occasional series of podcasts.
The Co-Directors of SCoGA are:
Professor Peter Jackson, Chair in Global Security, University of Glasgow[10]
Professor Juliet Kaarbo, Professor of Foreign Policy, University of Edinburgh[11]
Professor Phillips O'Brien, Head of the School of International Relations and Professor of Strategic Studies, University of St Andrews[12]
Ther Head of Operations is John Edward.
