Sarah Cameron, known professionally as Serafina Cameron-Locke, is an English composer and music educator. Best known for her work as a film composer, Cameron is a prominent musician within the London music scene.
Education
[edit]Upon graduating Leeds College of Music in 2014 with a first class degree, she travelled extensively whilst teaching Music, finally settling in 2017 at the prestigious Hill House School. Under the stewardship of her headmaster and illustrious Organist, Richard Townend[1] (son of Stuart Townend (headmaster)), her passion for composition was nurtured. After 7 years of teaching at Hill House School, Cameron was afforded a sabbatical year, as she was offered a scholarship to study Film Music at Berklee College of Music in Valencia. It was in Valencia, under the tutelage of famed Spanish Composer Lucio Godoy, where she began to transfer her deep rooted education into evocative music for film.
Career
[edit]In 2019, Cameron was shortlisted for the Abbey Road Film Scoring Composition.[2] After graduating Berklee, Cameron worked with directors from the La Escuela Superior de Cine y Audiovisuales de Cataluña and on numerous game titles. Her original score for the short film 'Arenillas',[3] Directed by Marta Martin helped the film to be selected for the 2024 Castilla y León en Corto prize[4] at Seminci film festival. In 2024, Cameron also developed a contemporary score for the video game 'Wanted: Yokai Uprising'.[5][6]
Music
[edit]Alongside her work as a film composer, Cameron has written multiple pieces for classical ensembles including Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, The Sixteen and Northern Ballet[7].[8]
