Sanas

[edit]

Sanas is an artificial intelligence technology company based in Palo Alto, California, that develops real-time speech processing solutions. Founded in 2020, the company was among the first to develop real-time accent translation and noise cancellation technology, primarily used in contact centers.[1][2]

History

[edit]

Sanas was founded by Maxim Serebryakov, Shawn Zhang, and Sharath Keshava Narayana at Stanford University.[3] In June 2022, the company raised $32 million in Series A funding led by Insight Partners, with participation from GV (formerly Google Ventures) and other investors.[4]

Technology

[edit]

The company's main product is a real-time speech-to-speech accent translation system that processes spoken English between different regional accents while preserving the speaker's voice characteristics. In 2024, Sanas received a U.S. patent for its accent conversion technology.

In June 2024, the company launched a free noise cancellation solution for contact centers, which uses artificial intelligence to remove background noise from audio communications.[5]

Industry Adoption

[edit]

As of August 2024, over 30,000 agents worldwide were using Sanas's accent translation technology, with 100,000 agents enrolled in their noise cancellation program.[6] Notable implementations include:

- Everise, a healthcare customer service provider, integrated Sanas's technology in July 2024 for their healthcare business process outsourcing operations[7]

- Continuum Global Solutions adopted the technology for their contact center operations

- Five9 made the technology available on their marketplace platform[8]

Recognition

[edit]

In 2024, Frost & Sullivan recognized Sanas with their North American Technology Innovation Leadership Award in the accent translation solutions industry.[1] The company was also recognized with a Speech Industry Award in 2024 by Speech Technology Magazine for its contributions to contact center communications.[8]
