The San Francisco City Cats Basketball Team is a professional basketball team based in San Francisco, California. The team is a member of the American Basketball Association (ABA) and has a rich history in the San Francisco sports scene. The City Cats name is derived from the cool and hip culture of San Francisco in the 60s and 70s, where people from the city were known as "those Cats." The team embraces a feline theme, representing all types of cats from domestic house cats to the "King of the Jungle."
