Sameer Somal is an entrepreneur,[1] investor, and speaker.[2][3][4] He is the CEO of Blue Ocean Global Technology and co-founder of Girl Power Talk.[5][6][7][8][9][10][11][12]
Career
[edit]Somal began his career in finance in 2005. He has held positions of increasing responsibility at Morgan Stanley, Merrill Lynch & Co. and Bank of America. He then served as senior investment analyst of Institutional Asset Management at Scotiabank & Trust Ltd.[13]
In 2012, he co-founded Blue Ocean Global Wealth,[14] an investment advisory firm, and Blue Ocean Global Technology, a digital transformation and reputation management firm. Somal currently serves as CEO of Blue Ocean Global Technology.[15][16][17][18][19][20]
In 2019, Somal co-founded Girl Power Talk,[21][22] an organization aimed at fostering leadership among young women, men, and nonbinary individuals.[23] He later established Girl Power USA,[24] a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focusing on education and empowerment for underserved communities.[25][26][27][28]
Somal is also a senior advisor at OxProx and managing director of Grupo Ya Quedó. He has served on several boards, including the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA).[29] He is an active member of the Abraham Lincoln Association (ALA),[30] Academy of Legal Studies in Business (ALSB), American Bar Association (ABA), American Marketing Association (AMA),[31][32] Business Transition Council, International Trademark Association (INTA), National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD) and Society of International Business Fellows (SIBF).[33][34][35]
Somal specializes in economic damages,[36][37] intellectual property, and internet defamation. He authors Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs] in partnership with the Philadelphia Bar Foundation.[38] He is a frequent speaker at global conferences, including events by the Federal Home Loan Bank, IBM, and the U.S. State Department’s Foreign Service Institute.[39][40]
