Sam Buttrey (born 1961) was the 1st ever Jeopardy Professor's Tournament winner, 3rd in the 2022 TOC, and 6th in the 1st ever Jeopardy Masters. He is now retired, as of 2024, and at 61, was the oldest TOC finalist ever. Lou Pryor, Marilyn Kneeland, Francois Barcomb, and him are the only TOC finalists over 50 years old. and beat Matt Amodio in the semifinals. He is married and has 1 son.
