STTS - Shah Tried To Sing

Biographical sketch:

Dr. Shahadat Hossain is an Asian-British self-taught musician who began singing and playing instruments after turning 40. Originally a chartered accountant with years of experience in high-pressure roles within large UK organizations, he later transitioned into academia, where he now enjoys teaching at the university level while actively engaging in research.

Shah was a devoted connoisseur of live music, drawn to every genre from classical symphonies to underground rap battles. His life was a tapestry of concerts, each one a vivid story of sound and emotion that transcended genres and boundaries. For him, the magic of live performance was unmatched, a world where every note and beat was a new adventure. Shah's musical journey spanned from the crackling warmth of cassette tapes to the crystal-clear convenience of streaming platforms. His collection, ever-evolving, captured the essence of every era, making him a true traveller through sound.

After reaching the pinnacle of his professional career, Shah realized it was time to follow his childhood dream of learning music. He believed that, despite his accomplishments, there was still a part of him that longed for the creative expression music could offer. Determined to embrace this passion, he began his musical journey later in life, proving it’s never too late to pursue what truly inspires you.

Qatar Life:

Qatar FIFA 2022 FanZone

Working in Qatar provided Shah with the opportunity to join the Bangladeshi-origin fusion band "Srabon," where he could regularly practice and hone his vocal abilities. In 2022, Shah was fortunate to perform at several concerts in the FIFA World Cup 2022 fan zones with the band "Srabon," sharing his music on a global stage.

A year of practice and performing in numerous concerts with Srabon inspired Shah to record music under his own name and delve into the recording side of the music industry. Legendary musician Mujib Ud Dowla mentored Shah, helping him refine his vocal texture and preparing him for the recording process. Through Mujib's expert guidance, Shah was able to elevate his singing technique and develop his unique sound.

He was fortunate to meet the talented music composer Shahed (STONE), and the two quickly formed a strong creative bond. In Shahed's "Studio Cockpit," they began recording 70s English and Bengali songs, eventually leading to the creation of Shah’s music brand, STTS – Shah Tries To Sing, in 2023.

Despite Shah residing in the UK and Shahed in Bangladesh, the duo has successfully produced 23 songs, including English cover tracks and original STTS songs like Highway of Love, Valobashire (Bangla), Vabnagulu (Bangla), and Joddha (Bangla). These tracks have garnered attention from both music lovers and critics alike, showcasing their unique blend of talent across borders.

The first English EP from STTS and Studio Cockpit, Romantic Anthems, is set to release on January 1st, 2025. The EP will feature five heartfelt tracks, each brimming with love and romance, offering a timeless collection for listeners.
