SMART College
[edit]SMART College is a private college located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Founded by Mr. Anand Pon, it is also the first institution in Malaysia that offers qualifications in fields such as Enforcement and Compliance as well as Corporate Investigation since 2012.
Founded by Mr. Anand Pon in 2012, SMART College started as a small campus with only 2 classrooms at Gasing Indah, Petaling Jaya. The college would later have its first convocation in 2015 at the Royal Selangor Club, Kuala Lumpur, awarding their 1st fully accredited Diploma in Enforcement and Compliance to their first batch of students. Throughout the years, SMART College has established various collaborations with other industries and educational institutions in the same field.
In 2016, SMART College joined with Universiti Pertahanan Nasional Malaysia (UPNM) with a franchise collaboration for an Master in Business Administration degree program in Protection Management.[2]
Later in 2017, SMART College established a collaboration with James Cook University for an education degree pathway for a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology.
In 2019, SMART AMAR was established and inaugurated by Mr. Ruslan bin Tuan Mat, Director of the Community Education Division, Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (SPRM). In the same year, SMART College received the Anti-Corruption Award[3] presented by YBhg. Datuk Seri Azam Baki, MACC Deputy Chief of Operations.
In 2020, SMART College was officiated as an accredited Occupational Safety and Health Certified Trained Center[4] by the Minister of Human Resources, YB Datuk Saravan A/L Murugan
In 2022, SMART College launched their Community English Language Learning (C.E.L.L.) programme that aims to enhance the youths' proficiency in the English language through fun, interactive theatre practices and performances based on popular movies. As of 2024, SMART College has conducted 4 C.E.L.L. runs, with the latest run being based on the movie Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire at SMK St. Gabriel.
