Jharsuguda [1]a small district town in state of Odisha is home to vast majority of communitys and religions. It consists of a big Marwadi community[2]. In the city of Jharsuguda there are several elite familys which include the SHAH FAMILY. Which finds its origin to the village Bhorki[3] of jhunjhunu district, state of Rajasthan.
History and Origin
[edit]Shah Family traces its origin to the small village of Udaipurwati tehsil 'bhorki' in the district of jhunjhunu,Rajasthan. The family worships Shakambari Mata[4]as their Kuldevi(Clan deity). Its oldest known forefather claims to be Chuni lal shah. The family migrated from the native village around 100 years back settling at the tribal place of Jharsuguda and becoming one of the first Marwari family to migrate to the current town. The family under the guidance of Shri Dulichand Shah started the firm of Dulichand Hanuman Prasad (DHP) Shah.
Works and Occupation
[edit]Under the Firm of DHP shah the family flourished and worked in many sectors including Jwellary making,Petroleum and kerosene, paper Wholeselling, Rolling mills,Mining ,Food Wholeseller,Motor dealer,paper distributors, soap factorys etc. Dulichand hanuman prasad shah also managed the orient paper mills[5],brajrajnagar.
