The eighth season of the American police procedural television series S.W.A.T. premiered on CBS, for the 2024–25 U.S. television season on October 18, 2024.[1] S.W.A.T. stars Shemar Moore, David Lim, Patrick St. Esprit, Anna Enger Ritch, Niko Pepaj, and Jay Harrington and centers on Los Angeles Police Department Sergeant Daniel "Hondo" Harrelson (Moore) and his police Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team Twenty Squad.

The seventh season was originally set as the final of the series. However, on April 11, 2024, the series was renewed for an eighth season.[2]

The seventh season of S.W.A.T. was originally set as the final season.[12][13] However, on April 11, 2024, CBS reversed the final season decision, and renewed the series for an eighth season.[2][14][15]

Casting

On June 4, 2024, it was announced that Rochelle Aytes, who played Nichelle Carmichael, would not be returning as a regular for the eighth season, as Aytes was cast as a lead in the CBS medical-mystery series Watson.[16] On July 18, 2024, it was announced that Niko Pepaj who played Miguel Alfaro would be upgraded to series regular, and that Annie Ilonzeh had been cast in a recurring role as Devin Gamble.[17]
