Rob Austin (Robert Thomas Austin) is an elected Liberal Democrat Councillor for Newcastle City Council.[1] Rob Austin was elected in May 2024 following a double election in the ward Fawdon and West Gosforth following the resignation of Councillor Brenda Hindmarsh[2] (former lord mayor of Newcastle City Council) who died before the election.[3]

Rob took part in National Citizen Service in 2012. Rob Austin, was chosen to take part in the National Citizen Service's (NCS) first national advertising campaign.[4] Rob was huge a supporter of NCS and often says he would not be doing we is doing now if it was not for the program.[5]
