The River Road Rescue Squad is a Basic Life Support (BLS) Emergency Medical Services (EMS) provider headquartered in Piscataway, NJ and dispatched internally by MedCoRe. Founded in 1961 by residents driven by their desire to serve their community, we have continued our tradition of service through volunteerism to serve residents and visitors of Piscataway Township and anywhere else the need may arise.
Our organization - which leverages more than 60 years of in-field experience - is licensed by the NJ Department of Health - Office of Emergency Medical Services and exists to save lives, relieve suffering and injury, promote safety in all of its branches and provide ambulance and rescue services to the sick and injured regardless of race, creed or ability to pay. Our team is comprised completely of volunteers that operates 24/7/365 with a mix of in-station staff and scramble (recall) coverage to ensure that our patients and community receive the care they deserve.[1]
