René Rosager Dinesen (born 13 April 1971) is a Danish diplomat. He currently serves as the
Ambassador of Denmark to the United Kingdom.

Career
[edit]Prior to his posting in London, René Dinesen served as Danish Ambassador to Austria and was the Permanent Representative to the OSCE and UN in Vienna.[1] With residence in Vienna at the time, Dinesen was also accredited as the Danish Ambassador to Slovenia, Slovakia, Albania and Kosovo at the time. Earlier in his career, Mr. Dinesen served as Ambassador to South Africa with residence in Pretoria, where he was accredited as Ambassador of Denmark to Angola, Botswana, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Eswatini, Lesotho, Madagascar, Namibia and Equatorial Guinea. He has also served as the Danish Ambassador to Afghanistan, and served as Deputy Permanent Representative at the Danish UN Mission in New York and as Deputy in Romania.[2]
In addition, he has held several leading positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, most recently as Under-Secretary of State from 2016 to 2018 and before that as head of office for strategy and policy planning. Previously, he was private secretary to the former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Per Stig Møller.[3]
In 2015 he became the first executive director of a new international philanthropic foundation, the KP Foundation,[4] which works on issues such as climate change and sustainable economics.
René Dinesen has lectured at several American universities and is an examiner in Political Science and International Relations at the University of Copenhagen, the University of Southern Denmark and Aarhus University.
