Submission declined on 24 October 2024 by MarcGarver (talk). This submission's references do not show that the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia article—that is, they do not show significant coverage (not just passing mentions) about the subject in published, reliable, secondary sources that are independent of the subject (see the guidelines on the notability of people). Before any resubmission, additional references meeting these criteria should be added (see technical help and learn about mistakes to avoid when addressing this issue). If no additional references exist, the subject is not suitable for Wikipedia. This submission does not appear to be written in the formal tone expected of an encyclopedia article. Entries should be written from a neutral point of view, and should refer to a range of independent, reliable, published sources. Please rewrite your submission in a more encyclopedic format. Please make sure to avoid peacock terms that promote the subject.

- Comment: For example, sentences like " He has been excellent in converting interesting conversations into articles that remain as a note of history" are not neutral, tend to promote the subject of the article and, because they are not supported by a citation, are particularly problematic. Ravindran Raghavan (born 11 March 1965) is a Malaysian author who has published 14 titles.[1] on Amazon. His notable book was "Malabar to Malaya, 2nd Edition" which narrates the history of migration of Indian labour into Malaya (now Malaysia) during the British colonisation era.
Ravindran was awarded the Outstanding Talent Award by the Ministry of Culture, Dubai, UAE in 2023 which also qualified him to be issued the coveted Golden Visa by the UAE government[2].
Education
[edit]Ravindran graduated with an honours Degree in Engineering[3], majoring Chemical Engineering, from the University of Malaya in 1990. He subsequently obtained a Certificate in Project Management from the University of New South Wales, Australia.
Career
[edit]Ravindran started his career in 1991 as a Project Engineer in submarine pipelaying when high-density polyethylene pipes were first introduced to Malaysia through a Finnish company, Keppo, Wiik & Hoeglund under their Malaysian company Forenede Plast Malaysia Sdn Bhd. He became the Technical Manager of the same company after some years. Later, in 1997, he moved to Southwire Integral Sdn Bhd, a US-owned fibre optic conduit manufacturer where he rose to the level of General Manager for the ASEAN region.
He tried his hands at being an entrepreneur by starting his own company called Roline Asia Sdn Bhd (where Roline meant Ravi-on-line) to trade in biometric devices, web technology and process automation. After 5 years of building the business, in 2005 he was scouted by a UK shipping company, IAL Container Line (UK) Ltd to be appointed as their Director for Southeast Asia. This move saw him deriving the business masterplan for the company and was later transferred to the Head Office in Dubai UAE.
Ravindran remained with the IAL Group from 2005 until retirement in 2022. He held the position of General Manager in the Group CEO's office for some years prior to retirement.
