The Ramamangalam Perumthrikkovil Temple is a Hindu temple located in Ramamangalam, Ernakulam District, Kerala. The shrine is devoted to Narasimha, the man-lion avatar of Vishnu. The shrine at the temple depicts Bala Narasimha, the peaceful form of Narasimha. The 10-day annual event concludes the next day of Vishu in Meda masam (April 15 or 16).

Legend[edit]

The shrine is believed to have been built by Cheraman Perumal between 8th and 12th century AD. The Brahmins of the region did not allow Cheraman Perumal to watch the kalashamadal ceremony after the pratishta in the temple. Cheraman Perumal was saddened by this act of Brahmins and started to walk away from the temple. Suddenly Sastha appeared holding a stick and drove the Brahmins away from the temple. This deity is worshipped in the temple as Unni Bhootham.
