Radical Storage, formerly known as Bagbnb, is an Italian luggage storage company headquartered in Rome. Established in 2016, the company connects travelers with local businesses offering secure luggage storage services. It operates over 8,000 locations worldwide.[1]

History and overview

[edit]

Radical Storage was founded in 2016 in Rome by Alessandro Seina, Giacomo Piva, and Giulio De Donato. Initially named Bagbnb, the company was created to address the need for secure luggage storage by connecting travelers with local businesses offering storage solutions.[2] By 2020, the company had expanded to over 3,000 locations across 300 cities. Bagbnb secured €2.5 million in funding from VV2 and VV4 funds managed by Vertis to support its growth.[3]

In 2020, the company rebranded as Radical Storage.[4] During the COVID-19 pandemic, it adopted a hybrid work model while maintaining its headquarters in Rome.[5]

In 2024, Radical Storage raised $7 million (€6.46 million) in a Series A funding round, co-led by CDP Venture Capital and Azimut’s ALIcrowd III fund, among other investors.[6][7]

Radical Storage collaborates with organizations such as Trenitalia, eDreams, AccorHotels, and GLS Spain.[8] In 2024, the company partnered with GLS Spain to use its parcel shops as luggage storage locations.[9]

Operations

[edit]

Radical Storage partners with local businesses, referred to as "Angels," to provide luggage storage near transport hubs and tourist areas. Customers book services through a website or mobile app that features an interactive map for locating storage options.[10]
