A small and beautiful village
of Nepal - Rabidash
Rabidash is a village of Nepal. The area of this village is about 1.5 square kilometer. It is a small and beautiful village which is located in Kalikamai Rural Municipality of Nepal. Geographically it is located in Terai region (plain land) at a latitude of 27° 3' 44" and longitude of 84° 42' 36". It is 22.2 kilometres far away from the Birgunj city in the west.
The name of this village has been derived from two local words : 'Rabi' and 'Dash' . 'Rabi' means ' Sun' and 'Dash'means 'Devotee' . In total, Rabidash is village where the people were devotees of sun at that time. They were also of spiritual mindset and they used to believe on God and Goddess. The boundary of this village has been separated by land on three sides and by a river on one side. The population of this village is about 700. The main occupation of this village is agriculture as most of people are farmers. Some people are teachers,barbers,mason, painter, carpenters, drivers, civilians , politicians, government workers, etc.Due to presence of fertile loamy
soil , farmers grow mainly paddy plants during rainy season and maize,peas, pulses and wheat plants during winter Farmers also tame animals for various purposes i.e. hens and ducks for egg, cow, buffalo for milk and dung and goat and hen for meat. Most of people are Hindu i.e. about 98% and remaining 2% are muslim. There are many temples i.e. temples of Ram Janki, Satomai,Baudhimai, Jinbaba,Pathlimai,etc. are located in this village. In all these temples, people go to worship Gods and Goddesses.
