World Cup (1)

All participating teams were invited to the world cup as they were all ranked 16 or above in the 2nd version of the world rankings.
In Group A, world number one, Mexico, failed to reach the knockouts as they are beaten on point difference by South Africa. While Yemen comfortably qualify and world number 7 Cameroon finish bottom of the group with zero wins.
In Group B world number 4, Ireland, topped there group with underdogs Brazil coming in at a close second. Poland drew with bottom of the group Albania to decide that they do not go to the knockout stage.
In Group C world number 2, UAE, finish top of the group with two wins and a draw, with underdogs, the Netherlands, finishing second in the group. As well, both Iceland and Germany underachieve with Iceland placing third and Germany not winning a single game.
In Group D world number 6, England, finish top of the group and underdogs, Norway, also reach the knockout stage. Meanwhile, world number 3, Egypt underperform and finish third in the group alongside Hungary who finish last.
The Quarter Finals features a majority of underdogs as all four of the tier 4 teams qualified for the knockouts. After the quarter finals finished only two underdogs made it through, Yemen and Norway. As well, tier 3 South Africa also made it through alongside tier 2 England.
After the Semi-Finals England and Yemen were the last two to stand for the World Cup. After the final was completed England had obtained a comfortable 31-9 victory over Yemen to be named the inaugural World Cup champions.

World Cup (3)

All 20 teams had to participate through qualfication rounds.
In Group A, World Numbers 4 and 5, UAE and Egypt, expectedly finish at the top of their groups with both 3 wins and a loss. Both Australia and Fiji finish higher in their group than expected, but they do not go to the knockouts at their first World Cup. The only team to underachieve in the group was the world number 13, Albania, as they finished at the very bottom of the group. Although, they had the biggest upset in the group as they came out victorious against top of the group UAE.
In Group B, World Numbers 2 and 6 both failed to reach the knockouts as the runner-ups of the last tournament Yemen finish at the bottom of the group, while Mexico finish third place. World Number 9, Netherlands, finish at the top of the group being undefeated. As well, Finland finish second in the group, which means they go through to the knockouts in their debut tournament. Lastly, Belgium also debut with a surprising victory over Yemen and a draw against Mexico.
In Group C, world number 10, Brazil, topped the group being undefeated, while world number 1, Ireland, comes in at second to also qualify for the knockout stages. Meanwhile, debutants Chile and Northern Ireland finish third and fourth and world number 7 Iceland massively underachieve and do not win a single game.
In Group D, the inagural world champion and the last champion of the world cup, England, were knocked out in the group stage placing third. Ahead of them Denmark and previous third place, South Africa, qualified for the knockouts. Below England, the previous fourth place, Norway and world number 28, Namibia, also do not make the knockouts with only one win in their tournaments.
After the Quarter Finals were complete South Africa have made it to their second top four and Ireland, Netherlands and debutants Finland also make it.
After the Semi-Finals were completed only Ireland and South Africa were still able to win the World Cup. After the final was complete Ireland had beaten South Africa 23-13 and became the second ever world champions.
