From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

QFest St. Louis is an annual film festival held in St. Louis, Missouri that uses the art of contemporary cinema to spotlight the lives and celebrate the culture of LGBT people.

History

[edit]

Founded in 2007, the festival largely features films that would not otherwise screen in St. Louis. This event is presented by the nonprofit Cinema St. Louis, the organizers of the St. Louis International Film Festival.[1] The festival puts diversity at the forefront, championing the community and demonstrating representation in a way that embraces people for who they are.[2] Beyond storytelling and filmmaking, the festival includes accompanying events like LGBT youth art sales.[3]

In 2024, there are 27 films from 9 countries (India, United Kingdom, Iran, Greece, Australia, Tunisia, Germany, Turkey, and the United States), including 4 narrative features, 5 documentary features, 11 narrative shorts, and 7 documentary shorts.[4] All entries must be relevant to LGBT audiences and have a St. Louis theatrical premiere.[1]
