Purunity is a water and air filtration system provider with operations in Turkey and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Headquartered in Dubai, the company was founded in the UAE in 2020, and subsequently expanded into the Sultanate of Oman. Purunity employs water filtration technology developed in South Korea and certified by global standards, including the Water Quality Association (WQA), NSF and CE certifications.

History

[edit]

Purunity was founded in the United Arab Emirates in July 2020 with the goal of providing quality water and air filtration solutions for households and businesses. It is listed as a local water filter provider and supplier by the Dubai Can initiative.[1] Over the years, the company rapidly grew and expanded into the Sultanate of Oman in 2022.

In the same year, Purunity had a strategic merger with Waternet, a similar service provider based in Istanbul, Turkey.[2] This merger created a subscription-based water and air purifier business accross Turkey and the GCC (i.e. "Waternet Group"), turning the merged entity into a regional platform.

As of October 2024, Waternet Group serves over 50,000 households across Turkey, the UAE, and the Sultanate of Oman.

Products

[edit]

Their products claim to improve the quality of water and air for both household and office use. The product line includes countertop and free-standing water purifiers, air purifiers, and shower filters.

Countertop water purifiers

[edit]

Their countertop water purifiers remove contaminants such as bacteria, viruses, and heavy metals while retaining essential minerals. These models offer cold, hot, and ambient water options and are directly connect to the water source.

Free-standing water purifiers

[edit]

Free-standing water purifiers are designed for larger spaces and provide high-capacity water filtration. These units are suitable for both household and office environments where a consistent supply of filtered water is needed.

Air purifiers

[edit]

Their air purifiers are designed to improve indoor air quality through multi-stage filtration, including HEPA filters that capture particles such as dust, allergens, and pollutants as small as 0.3 microns.[3]

Shower filters

[edit]

Purunity shower filters reduce chlorine and other impurities in water, with the aim of improving water quality for personal care. These filters help protect skin and hair from the drying effects of chlorine and other harsh chemicals.

Certifications

[edit]

Purunity's water filtration products are certified by internationally recognised organisations, including the NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) and the WQA (Water Quality Association). These certifications indicate that the products meet established standards for safety, performance and contaminant reduction. Both the Aqualis+ and Nativus+ models hold NSF and WQA certifications, ensuring safe drinking water.

Design

[edit]

The company aims to create user-friendly products that integrate easily into various environments, such as kitchens and living spaces, while maintaining high performance standards.

The Aqualis+ water purifier received the Good Design Award in 2018, highlighting its combination of functional efficiency and stylish design.[4] ''The simple design of the front and intuitive button graphic makes the product stylish and edgy.'' is stated by the jury.

The Spiro air purifier has received the Red Dot Design Award in 2018 in the air purifier category. It impresses with a high functionality that meets today’s demands on performance, ease of use and efficiency.[5]
