Draft:Procure It Right

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Procure It Right (PIR) is a management consulting company specializing in procurement, founded in 2000 by Jan Stenbeck,[1] based in Stockholm, Sweden.

History

[edit]

PIR was founded by the Swedish entrepreneur and businessman Jan Stenbeck. When making large investments in infrastructure for the Kinnevik group including companies such as Tele2 and Millicom he realized that he was short of people managing complex procurement. PIR was founded as a spin-off from Netcom Consultants (today Cybercom[2]) telecom procurement practice, a procurement shared service company for the Kinnevik group at the turn of the millennium.[3]

Today

[edit]

The company's main focus is still improving the procurement function within organisations and managing larger and more complex procurement and transformation projects.[4][5] In 2016 Newground Alliance acquired PIR from Tele2 that is owned by the investment company Kinnevik.[6]
