Poststoicism was founded in 2024 by Steven Booth as a response to both the growing misinterpretations of traditional Stoicism in modern culture and the limitations of ancient Stoic philosophy when applied to contemporary life. This new philosophical approach emerged from the need to adapt Stoic principles to the complexities of the modern world, incorporating insights from psychology, neuroscience, and social responsibility. Poststoicism emphasizes the active application of wisdom, courage, justice, and temperance not just for personal development but also for the collective well-being of society.
