Porthcawl Museum volunteers are working on a history detailing, where possible, the lives of those residents of Porthcawl who gave their lives during the Second World War. All but one of their names are inscribed on the memorial to the fallen of 20c and 21c conflicts situated in the grounds of Holy Trinity Church in Victoria Avenue, at its junction with Church Place. One is remembered on a plaque at St John's church, Newton.
The purpose of this Wikipedia entry is two-fold
- List the names of the fallen, with sufficient information for descendants or friends to identify them, and to be able contact the volunteers with their stories.
- Become their history written around the timeline of the war, when the project is complete.
