Ponnusamy Karthik is an Indian entrepreneur, founder, and chairman of the Namma Family Group of Companies. His ventures include Real Estate & Construction, Import & Export (Tender Coconut) and Business Development. Karthik is also involved in philanthropic activities through Seyal Trust.

Early Life and Education

Ponnusamy Karthik was born in 1992 in Malaiyarasan Kuppam, Villupuram district, Tamil Nadu, India. He completed his early education at Dr. Lemire School of Excellence in Vettavalam, Tiruvannamalai district, and earned a Diploma in Civil Engineering from Vignesh Polytechnic College, Tiruvannamalai district. He later graduated with a degree in Civil Engineering from Anna University. He married Priya Govindaraj on June 14, 2021.

Born in to a family of business, Karthik is inspired by his parents, his father Annadurai and his mother Kavitha who guided and supported Karthik in all his growth.

Career

Early Career and Founding of Namma Family Builder & Developer

Ponnusamy Karthik began his career in the real estate sector, conducting extensive research from 2011 to 2016. He analyzed market trends, infrastructure developments, and competitor strategies. His engineering background provided him with a unique perspective on the real estate industry.

In 2016, Karthik founded Namma Family Builder & Developer in Guduvanchery, Chennai. He started the company with five professionals: K. Govindaraj, A. Idhayadulla, T. U. Srikanth, V. P. Thanigaimalai, and G. Anand, initially employing ten people. The company's focus was on real estate development in Guduvanchery, an area experiencing significant growth due to infrastructure improvements.

Expansion and Diversification

By 2017, Karthik expanded the company’s operations to include the resale of plots in Guduvanchery. This move was risky but proved successful, with the company completing the resale of approximately 200,000 square feet. In 2018, the company further expanded its real estate business across Tamil Nadu, opening its first branch in Guduvanchery and growing to employ over 30 people.

In 2019, Karthik's expertise in plot resale enabled further expansion across Tamil Nadu. He also began analyzing markets for other business opportunities, including import-export and business development. By the end of 2019, the company had diversified into multiple business sectors, employing over 40 people.

Private Limited Certification and Further Growth

In 2020, Namma Family Builder & Developer became a Private Limited Company. The company expanded its real estate operations nationwide and opened a second branch in Guduvanchery. This year marked significant growth, with the company employing over 60 people and implementing business strategies across India.

By 2021, the company had extended its services in layout sales nationwide, with a workforce of 75 employees. Karthik led the company's expansion into new regions, including Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Karnataka, focusing on major cities such as Chennai, Coimbatore, and others. The company’s customer- centric approach ensured that projects met client needs and satisfaction.

ISO Certification and International Presence

In 2022, the company acquired ISO 9001:2015 certification for construction and materials usage. This certification marked a commitment to quality and standardized practices. The company opened its third branch in Kelambakkam, OMR, and employed over 90 people. The company’s operations grew to include 800 laborers, supporting large-scale projects.

By 2023, Namma Family launched premium projects in various locations across Tamil Nadu, collaborating with corporate establishments. The company’s employee strength grew to over 140, with 800 laborers. Karthik continued to oversee the company's expansion, managing projects from concept to execution and ensuring high standards and quality.

As of 2024, Namma Family Builder & Developer has grown to employ over 160 people and 900 laborers globally. The company has completed over 1000+ projects, serving more than 10,000 clients across India and internationally, including the United States, United Kingdom, Dubai, and Saudi Arabia.

Philanthropy

Ponnusamy Karthik is the founder of Seyal Trust, a social charity organization established to support education for underprivileged students, provide food and assistance to old age homes, organize sports programs for village youth, and offer disaster relief during natural calamities. The trust operates under the motto "No Pasi No Anathai" (No Hunger, No Orphans). During the natural calamities like floods, rains and storms, he extends his helping hand to the society in all possible ways. He has been doing many such voluntary community philanthropies.
