Polski Theatre in the underground (Polish: Teatr Polski w Podziemiu) is one of the non-institutional theatres in Wrocław, Poland. Polski Theatre in the underground has 1 permanent stage: Piekarnia, situated inside old bakery building at 67 Księcia Witolda Street.

History

The artistic activity of the Polski Theatre in underground began with the civil disobedience of the artists from the institutional Polski Theatre in Wrocław, in autumn 2016.[1] The theatre was opened on Jun 7, 2017 by staging So-Called Humanity In Madness, based on the play by Stanisław Ignacy Witkiewicz.[2]

The creators (actors and curators) were honoured by their work on the 6th of March 2020, when they were awarded by the City of Wrocław President Mr. Jacek Sutryk [3]
