Draft:Pick Up Limes

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Pick Up Limes is a vegan platform focused on food, nutrition, and wellness, founded in 2017 by Sadia Badiei. It provides resources such as recipes, videos, articles, and a mobile application available for iOS and Android, with the goal of promoting plant-based eating and offering tools to help individuals incorporate more plant-based meals into their lives.[1]

History

[edit]

Badiei started blogging in 2014, shortly after graduating from the University Of British Columbia and beginning her career as a dietitian in Vancouver.[1][2] According to SheSight Magazine, Badiei faced personal health challenges that influenced her decision to adopt a plant-based lifestyle and share related content.[3] During a backpacking trip to Thailand, she met her partner, Robin de Rozario, which later led her relocation to the Netherlands.[1][2] While Robin pursued his Ph.D. in control engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology,[4] Sadia focused on developing Pick Up Limes, creating recipes and sharing content on its website and YouTube channel.[1][2] The first video on the Pick Up Limes YouTube channel was uploaded in January 2017.[2] After completing his Ph.D., Robin joined the team, and in 2023, the Pick Up Limes mobile app was launched.[2]
