Peace is the fourth studio album by Welsh alternative rock band Kids in Glass Houses, released on 30 September 2013 through Kobalt Label Services. The album represents a departure from their previous sound, showcasing a more mature and reflective approach.
Release and promotion
[edit]Kids in Glass Houses released the lead single "Drive" on 21 July 2013. The following single from the album, "Peace," was released on 16 September 2013, just two weeks prior to the album's official release. The band used a mix of traditional and digital marketing strategies to promote the album, including a series of teaser videos and interviews leading up to the release.[1] The band also performed a series of live shows and acoustic sessions to promote the album and connect with their fanbase.[2]
Lyrical themes
[edit]Peace marks a significant thematic shift for Kids in Glass Houses, exploring themes of personal reflection, reconciliation, and the quest for inner peace. According to lead vocalist Aled Phillips, the album is inspired by the band's experiences over the past few years and aims to capture a sense of personal growth and resolution.[3] Phillips has noted that the album's lyrics are more introspective compared to previous releases, reflecting a deeper level of self-exploration and emotional honesty.[4]
