Patty Mucha (Patricia Muchinski) is an American poet and performance artist. She participated in the New York City art scene in the 1960s and 1970s, where she collaborated with many artists, poets, dancers, and performers.

Biography

Patty Mucha was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on June 26, 1935. She majored in art at Wisconsin State Teachers College]in Milwaukee (now the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee), and moved to New York in 1957.[1]

Mucha was a nude model for Claes Oldenburg. They married in 1960 and divorced in 1970.[2]


Patty Mucha was the lead singer in a band called The Druds. Pop artist Andy Warhol occasionally sang backup.

She appeared in art and films by Warhol, and collaborated with Oldenburg on his soft sculptures and other sewing projects.
