Patricia Wright is an advocate in autism interventions. She currently leads Proof Positive, a nonprofit dedicated to the wellbeing of autistic individuals, as its executive director.[1][2][3]
Career
[edit]Wright earned her PhD and MPH at the University of Hawaii and an MA at San Francisco State University. After serving as a special educator, Wright began her career as a leader of autism service organizations and policy initiatives.[4][5] Over her career, she has contributed to research literature on autism, applied behavior analysis, and humility as a clinician.[6][7]
She served as state autism director for the Hawaii State Department of Health; national director of autism services for Easter Seals[8]. VP of professional services for Rethink First; and Senior VP of strategic initiatives for NEXT for Autism.[9][10]
She sits on the scientific council of the Organization for Autism Research.[11] Previously, she was an executive committee member for the US National Center for Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities through the Center for Disease Control and Prevention; board member for the Association of Professional Behavior Analysts, and a member of the Autism Society Panel of Professional Advisors.[12]
