"Pasiempre" (stylized in all caps) is a song by Puerto Rican producer Tainy and Puerto Rican rappers Arcángel and Jhayco featuring Venezuelan musician and record producer Arca and Puerto Rican singers Myke Towers and Omar Courtz. It was released as the second track from Tainy's debut studio album Data on June 29, 2023. The song ends with a verse by fellow Puerto Rican rapper and singer Bad Bunny.
Background
[edit]"Pasiempre" was the first confirmed song to appear on Tainy's upcoming studio album along with "Obstaculo". It was announced via billboards in various parts in Puerto Rico. Originally, Puerto Rican rapper Anuel AA was scheduled to take part of the song. Later, Tainy stated he won't appear on its final version because he had to work on other projects.
Composition
[edit]The song was written by Tainy, Arcángel, Jhayco, Arca, Myke Towers, Omar Courtz and was produced by Tainy, Arca and Albert Hype. It contains guest appearance by Puerto Rican rapper and singer Bad Bunny at the end.
Commercial performance
[edit]"Pasiempre" failed to appear on the Billboard Hot 100 chart but debuted and peaked at number 20 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 chart dated July 15, 2023. The song entered the Billboard Hot Latin Songs at number 28 on July 15, 2023. On June 30, 2023, "Pasiempre" debuted at number 32 on Spain's PROMUSICAE chart. The song also appeared on the Hits of the World charts in Colombia (18), Ecuador (17) and Peru (24) on July 15, 2023.
Controversy
[edit]There were rumors that Bad Bunny's version was marked as an answer to Anuel AA who is regarded as one of the most important latin trap artists: "Y es verdad que yo no pegué el trap / Yo no soy rey del trap, tampoco un dios del trap, no / Yo soy Bad Bunny y soy má' grande que el trap" (And it is true that I did not hit the trap / I am not a trap king, not even a trap god, no / I am Bad Bunny and I am bigger than the trap). In an Instagram post, Anuel AA showed his chat with Bad Bunny where the latter claimed the verse wasn't dedicated to him.
Audio visualizer
[edit]An audio visualizer was uploaded to YouTube on June 29, 2023 along with the other song audio visualizers that appeared on Data.[1]
