[edit]The PLM College of Nursing was established in 1969 to address the healthcare challenges raised in the 1967 study Manila—Its Needs and Resources, which highlighted the disconnect between the people and the Manila Health Department's 41 health centers.

* The college was established in the summer of 1969, integrating community service with healthcare education. * Ms. Valentina Patacsil was appointed the first Secretary by PLM President Dr. Benito F. Reyes, and Mrs. Mary Vita B. Jackson became the first Dean on July 1, 1969. * An initial batch of 29 scholars was selected to pioneer a nursing program focusing on community health improvement.
- First Graduates (1972):
* The first batch of scholars graduated in April 1972, with 27 passing the board exams. Rosalinda Taguiam Palad placed 9th in the licensure exam.
- Partnerships:
