Opal in sky are a Canadian metal band fronted by twin brothers Dylon Opalinsky and Tyson Opalinsky[1]. There music uses classic breakdowns and complicated riffs typical of the genre with an upbeat, inspiring message that has lead to them quickly gaining popularity[2]. Their debut single “Aurora” released in 2022 followed by “The Blight” an EP released the same year.[3]

History

Following the success of “Aurora” and “The Blight” the band released a string of singles throughout 2023 all being received positively.[3]

In March 2024 “The Blight” hit 1 million Spotify streams, the first song to do so for the band. This was followed by the bands first album “Dream shift” a 26 minute album consisting of 8 songs on July 3rd[3]. Shortly after the band played their first show at Armstrong metal fest  12-13th July[5].

The band played there first headline show in there hometown, Vancouver, Canada 30th August 2024.

On the 6th of November “The Sacral” became the bands second song to reach 1 million Spotify streams followed by “Empathy, the gift” and “The blight” hitting 1 million and 2 million streams respectively in the same month[6].
