Once Upon A Time in Madras is an upcoming Indian Tamil-language hyperlink thriller film written and directed by Prasadh Murugan.[1] The film features an ensemble cast consisting of Bharath, Abhirami, Shaan, Rajaji, Thalaivaasal Vijay, PGS, Rajaji, Anjali Nair, Pavithra Lakshmi, Syed, Kalki, and Sini in supporting roles. The film is produced by MP Anand under Friday Film Factory, and co-produced by Haroon, Bala, and PGS Productions. The technical crew consists of editor San Lokesh, cinematographers K S Kalidoss and R Kannan, and music composer Jose Franklin.[2]

Once Upon A Time in Madras is scheduled to release in theatres on 13 December 2024.

Premise

Set in 2013 in Chennai, film revolves around four different individuals, their families and a gun which is accidentally discovered.[1]

Actor Bharath who was last seen in Ippadiku Kadhal (2024) joined hands with debutant director Prasad Murugan for his upcoming hyperlink thriller film titled Once Upon A Time in Madras.[3] The film also features an ensemble cast consisting Abhirami,[4] Shaan, Rajaji, Thalaivaasal Vijay, PGS, Rajaji, Anjali Nair, Pavithra Lakshmi, Syed, Kalki, and Sini in supporting roles.[5][6] Additionally, the director informed that a transperson was cast in the film for an important role, rather than making a male artist perform so.[7] The film is produced by MP Anand under Friday Film Factory, and co-produced by Haroon, Bala, and PGS Productions,[8] while the technical crew consists of editor San Lokesh, cinematographers K S Kalidoss and R Kannan, stunt choreographer Sugan and music composer Jose Franklin.[9] In mid-March 2024, Prasad Murugan revealed that the principal photography had been completed and the film was in post-production stage.[10]

Once Upon A Time in Madras is scheduled to release in theatres on 13 December 2024.[12] Earlier it was scheduled for release on 26 September 2024.[13]
