Draft:Omnikin

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Omnikin is a Quebec sporting goods manufacturer created in 1985 by Mario Demers. It is best known for manufacturing the Kin-Ball balls used in the sport. The word "omnikin" comes from "omni" which is from the french word "omniprésent" signifying who is everywhere and "kin" from the greek word "kinesis" meaning to set a body in motion. The company has 13 employees and it's headquarters are located in Lévis, Quebec.

History[edit]

Mario Demers founded Omnikin in 1985 to create a new team sport that complemented the very limited hours of physical education. [1] The team sport he envisioned would later become Kin-Ball. Today, the sport alone represents 40 % of the turnover of Omnikin with the rest coming from it's soccer balls, volleyball balls, cones and more. In 2008, it became part of the Canadian Tire foundation.
