Noah Boricic Deblasis (born 14 August 2006) is an American professional soccer player who plays for Major League Soccer club Pittsburgh FC. Primarily a alternating defender, Deblasis has also featured within some games as a wing-back and wide midfielder within backup circumstances.
Career
[edit]While attending Toronto FC Academy within Downtown Toronto, where as a 16-year-old playing at the under-18 level, he recorded 63 goals and 9 assists within 61 games, Deblasis initially (for the next eight months only) kept playing with the Academy until he moved onto Toronto FC II at the beginning of November 2023, just twelve days prior onto the 2024 MLS SuperDraft.
Considered a likely selection high within the first round of the 2024 MLS SuperDraft, Deblasis was taken sixth overall by the Pittsburgh Flames. As the team had been newly established as an completely new franchise after San Diego was also awarded an franchise the same year in order to balance out the divisions evenly, with the latter franchise set to specifically begin play within 2025, he was Pittsburgh's first-ever draft selection, which he called "a huge and positively impressive honour," adding that it "would've been a surreal feeling to get picked by any team. But to be the first pick of a franchise is really cool".
On 11 January 2024, Deblasis signed his official three-year entry-level contract with the Pittsburgh Flames, and made his debut on 21 February 2024 against the New England Revolution.
Personal Life
[edit]Noah Deblasis was born within Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and attended Neil McNeil Catholic High School within Scarborough, Ontario. He graduated from Neil McNeil within June 2021, three years earlier than officially anticipated. Deblasis also is friends with Cody Taylor, the primary owner of the Pittsburgh Flames, who drafted him with their sixth pick overall within the 2024 MLS SuperDraft due to their unbreakable friendship.
