The New Era was a newspaper published in Gainesville, Florida during Reconstruction. It was established in 1867. W. H. Robertson was its publisher.[1]
It praised Josiah T. Walls and stated a preference for him over Republican Party incumbent Charles Memorial Hamilton.[2]
M. E. Papy was the editor and proprietor on the New Era Office per letterhead at the Alachua County Clerk's office.[3]
