  • Comment: You misunderstood the previous declination. In a bio of a living person all major statements have to be supported by sources. For instance non of his early life is cited, and you only include a few sources at the end of the section on his career. Also none of his other roles has a source to verify it.
You also need to remove bragging claims. Ldm1954 (talk) 08:39, 18 September 2024 (UTC)

Neak Oknha Kith Meng

Neak Oknha Kith Meng (in Khmer: គិត ម៉េង; in Chinese: 陈丰明) is the Chairman and CEO of Royal Group of Companies. Established in 1991, Cambodia's strategic investment holding company, the Royal Group is recognized as the country's most dynamic and diversified business conglomerate. With interests in a wide range of industries including Banking & Finance, Insurance, Investment, Telecommunications, Power Energy, Transport, Media & Entertainment, Hotels & Resorts, Health, Education, Property Development, Trading, and Special Economic Zones.

Early Life and Education

[edit]

Kith Meng was born in Kandal Province, Cambodia but fled during the Khmer Rouge as a young refugee after losing both his parents. He was educated at Melba Copland Secondary School and Narrabundah College, Canberra before pursuing his degree in Economics at University of Canberra.

He returned to Cambodia at the start of the UNTAC administration in the early 1990's. Kith Meng saw the devastation the war had caused and decided to stay committed to rebuilding the nation.  He once said, "My own journey has mirrored that of the nation".

Business Career

[edit]

He started his business career running an import/export business in Australia, before moving back to Cambodia in the early 1990s. He started his business undertaking trading with the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia (UNTAC) given his English capability and traded initially in food, water, paper, accommodation, and communications equipment that the UNTAC required.

He formally established the Royal Group in 1991 and secured a number of dealership rights covering leading global brands. Given his dealings in importing telecommunications equipment, this gave him the opportunity in 1996 to partnership with Millicom International Cellular SA to jointly own and establish the 1st mobile operator in Cambodia called CamGSM Co. Ltd (Cellcard).

This was the catalyst that provided Royal Group with cashflow to expand its operations into property and other commercial businesses into what Royal Group is today with numerous market-leading companies with highly recognizable brands.

A key success of the Group is that it brings international investors to investment opportunities in Cambodia. Some of these partners include China Huaneng Group, Nord Anglia Education, Chailease (Taiwan), SBI Holdings (Japan) Prudential (Hong Kong), Keppel Infrastructure (Singapore), and previously Millicom and ANZ Bank (now Royal Group partnering with JTrust of Japan).

His business success is built on principles of transparency, good governance, and social responsibility. Kith Meng believes in Cambodia's potential for significant economic growth, stating, "Cambodia still has a long way to go, and everything is in place for this country to be one of the best-performing in Asia for decades to come."
