The Nankai 7100 series (南海7100系) is a electric multiple unit (EMU) train type operated by the private railway operator Nankai Electric Railway in Japan since 1969.

Design
[edit]While the design is based on the earlier 7000 series, this series differs from the 7000 series in having double doors instead of single-leaf ones and having air-conditioning from the time it entered service (2nd batch onwards).

History
[edit]The 7100 series trains were first introduced on the Nankai Main Line in 1969. By 1973, a total of 162 vehicles were built.[2]
From 1999 to 2003, the entire first batch of 9 4-car sets was scrapped by July 2003 due to the introduction of the 1000 series.[3]
As of 2024, only 62 vehicles remain in fleet.[2]
