Nani "Elchanan" Maoz (born September 8, 1966) is an Israeli businessman and investor who focuses on special situation and distress investments. He is the founder, chairman, and CEO of Everest Funds and Everest Investment Banking.[1] He is also the founder and an executive board member of Everest Corporate Finance. In addition, Maoz is the chairman and CEO of Metro One Telecommunications.
Biography

[edit]Maoz was born on September 8, 1966, in Tel Aviv, Israel. After completing his early education, he attended King’s College London in 1991 and received a bachelor of science in engineering in 1993.
Military service
[edit]Between 1984 and 1988, Maoz served in the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF), serving as a commanding officer in a special force.
Career
[edit]Maoz began his career in 1994 as an analyst at Dovrat Shrem Investment Management and later became head of its international department. He then co-founded the investment company Galil Fund in 1998 and served as its co-manager for a year.
In 2000, Maoz founded Everest Funds and started working as its CEO and chairman. He later launched Everest Investment Banking in 2018 and also established Everest Corporate Finance in 2013. After acquiring Metro One Telecommunications, Maoz began serving as the chairman of the company in 2018.
As of 2024, Maoz is the chairman and CEO of Everest Investment Banking and Everest Funds, an executive board member of Everest Corporate Finance, and the chairman and CEO of Metro One Telecommunications.[2] In addition, he is a board member of the America-Israel Friendship League and Powerfleet.
Through his investment companies, Maoz primarily focuses on special situation and distress investments and has invested in over 30 American, European, and Israeli public and private companies.[1] He has previously invested in companies in distress, including Actrade Financial, Gyrodyne, Simon Worldwide, ICTS, Concord Camera, and Livermore.
Personal life
[edit]Maoz is a former cyclist and has won five national championships and several medals in category-1 time trials and road races.
