Moree Public School is a co-educational government primary school located in Moree, New South Wales, Australia. Established in 1884, it is one of the oldest educational establishments in the Moree region and serves the local community with a strong focus on academic excellence and community involvement.
History
[edit]Moree Public School was founded in 1884 to meet the educational needs of the growing population in Moree. The school was part of the broader movement during the late 19th century when the New South Wales government expanded the public education system following the introduction of the Public Instruction Act of 1880.
The school has a long history of educating children in the Moree area and has undergone various expansions and updates over the years to accommodate the changing needs of the community. It was originally located on the site of the present Moree East Public School, with Moree East Public School itself opening in 1958 as a separate institution to address the educational needs of the expanding town.
