- Comment: Need more citations from reliable sources, not social media for verifiability and to meet GNG. The Herald (Benison) (talk) 09:56, 16 February 2024 (UTC)
- Comment: Interviews don't establish notability, and I'd ask the citations to streaming services and genius be replaced by cites to the band's own announcements or those in reliable sources. Mach61 (talk) 06:17, 31 December 2023 (UTC)

Moon Walker is the rock music project of New York based musician Harrison 'Harry' Springer. Springer composes, produces, and records all of Moon Walker's music in his bedroom.[1] While onstage, Moon Walker performs with the help of an additional bassist and drummer.[2] Moon Walker formed in 2021, spun-off from the band The Midnight Club. [3]
Moon Walker was originally inspired by other bands such as T. Rex, Supergrass, and The White Stripes. While Moon Walker shares similarities with many bands and genres like punk, psychedelic, 1960s, and 1970s rock, Springer self-identifies the band simply as rock.[4][5]
Many of Moon Walker's songs reflect Springer's own political views and often gets his message across using sarcastic language. His sarcasm originally created confusion for some in regards to his and the band's political orientation. Because of this, Moon Walker was thought to be a conservative band and was even referred to as a conservative version of the aforementioned band The White Stripes.[6] This troubled Springer but as Moon Walker grew he was relieved to be found by the bands target audience.[2] Despite this, Springer says the most anxious he's been about a review was when Justin Hawkins of The Darkness reviewed Moon Walker.[7][8]
History
[edit]Formation
[edit]During the beginning of the Covid-19 Pandemic, Springer began writing music for song libraries to make money. He did not want to sell some of the songs he wrote and with Sean McCarthy used them to form a second project: Moon Walker. Their first band together, The Midnight Club, was unable to perform live due to the pandemic, and the members naturally parted ways in pursuit of their own projects.[4][9] In 2023, Springer confirmed McCarthy was no longer involved with the Moon Walker project.[2]
Truth To Power (2021)
[edit]Moon Walker released his first single "Tear Down The Wall" on May 14, 2021.[10]
Moon Walker independently released his debut album Truth To Power on September 24th, 2021. Springer released the album independently as he wanted to oversee everything about the release and avoid potential complications with hiring a manager. According to Springer, the instruments used for the seven songs in Truth To Power consisted only of guitar, bass, drums, and vocals, with the only exception being the sixth song "Light Burns Out".[4]
The Attack of Mirrors (2022)
[edit]Moon Walker released his second album The Attack of Mirrors on October 21th, 2022.[11] With the second album, Springer sought to expand the sound and concept brought to his first. Synth, string instruments, and a more personal and soft singing voice were utilized. [12]
The Attack of Mirrors was met with positive reviews, receiving 4/5 star reviews from Euphoria Magazine[13] and New Noise Magazine.[14]
Apocalypticism (2023-present)
[edit]On October 5, 2023, Moon Walker announced a publishing deal with Limited Edition Music Publishing/Warner Chappell Music. The Co-Presidents of Limited Edition Music Publishing, Greg Sowders and Marc Wilson, stated "Moon Walker not only has an incredible rock sound along with catchy songs, he has something to say. Nothing is more important to us than a message. We welcome Moon Walker to the family and can't wait for the world to hear this record." On October 20th, 2023, Moon Walker released his third album Apocalypticism.[15]
Moon Walker performed at the 2024 SXSW Music Festival[16] and Treefort Music Fest 2024.[17]
Moon Walker is one of the few artists slated to perform at progressive metal band Tool's upcoming destination rock music festival "Tool: Live In The Sand". Tyler Fey, son of renowned concert promoter Barry Fey, hopes to develop new rock acts such as Moon Walker like his father did with Led Zeppelin.[18]
In 2024, V Magazine featured Moon Walker's single "The TV Made Me Do It" in a list of collected songs for a "post-election reality".[19]
