History

[edit]

The Monokini project was created in the year 1999 by the famous producer and composer Max Fadeev. The soloist of the trance project was a singer from Volgograd, Russia named Tatyana Zaikina, known under the creative persona "Monokini"., Mona (born November 26, 1981). In the year 2001, the debut album 'Monokini' made her debut album - "To Reach the Sun," which included the songs "Sitting on Clouds" (the first music video for "Monokini" was shot for this song), "To Reach the Sun (Дотянуться до солнца)," "Until We Meet on a Star. (До встречи на звезде)." After the album, several more successful singles were released: "Run (Беги)," "Wind (Ветер)," "Gave Everything Away (Всё Отдала)," "Ticking (Тикает)," "No More Secrets (Тайны больше нет)."

The project achieved such remarkable success that it was repeatedly honored at the аnual Russian song festival "Song of the Year" festival in 2004 for the group's compositions such as "Wind" and "Ticking."

The authors of the music and lyrics of the debut album "Reach for the Sun" are Maxim Fadeev and his brother Artyom Fadeev[1]. Yekaterina Alekseeva, music critic of the Russian InterMedia portal, described the band in a review of the album as "a typical production project of the Fadeev family corporation"[2]. The Russian newspaper labeled "Music Newspaper" calls the song "Dance at Dawn" (На рассвете танцуй) the most characteristic of the album, according to which you can make an impression on the entire album, and the song with the greatest popularity of the album is "Reach for the Sun."[3].

In the year 2007, Mona left the project. When Fadeev announced the casting for the soloist's place, it caused a negative reaction from Mona's fans, as a result of which the project was closed. In 2009, a new single was released by Mona labeled "Fire" (Огонь).

Star Factory (2002-2005)

[edit]

In the year of 2002, Monokini performed a duet song with Russian singer Yulia Savicheva titled "Ветер" (Wind) at the Star Factory 2. [4] A year and a half later, she sang on Star factory 4 with Yura Titov titled "Тикает" (Ticking).[5] In 2005, Monokini performed a duet song with Russian singer Yulianna Karaulova titled "Всё Отдала" (Gave Everything Away).[6] After her fame on "Star Factory", singer Monokini decided to concentrate on her personal life.[7]
